In the ruins beneath Shinanome High School, Makoto encounters Ifrit, an ancient, mysterious entity who transports him to the parallel world of El Hazard. She also takes the scheming Jinnai Katsuhiko, Jinnai's irrepressible sister Nanami, and Mr. Fujisawa along.
