Edano Tsukushi lost his father to an untreatable disease in early childhood, and grew up in a single-mother household.

In the future, he wants to become a doctor to help patients with intractable diseases like his father, but the admission fee makes it difficult for a single-mother family to enter a medical school.

So he studies hard in order to win a scholarship that does not require repayment.

However, his grades were not improving as he had hoped, and he was betrayed by a childhood friend.

Tsukushi, who was ridiculed as an incompetent bookworm, spends his days despairing over his childhood friend, who left him behind as if to show him that he was not the highest-achieving student in his grade–or so he thought.

Just when he was on the verge of the biggest crisis of his life, he was offered a helping hand.

The person who approached him was, as he had no idea, a girl from overseas who was one of the most popular beauties at school.

The innocent, pretty, and charming girl from high school also took a liking to him.

And before he knew it, his grades were soaring.

Tsukushi discovers that his childhood friend is in fact the culprit that has been preventing him from improving his grades.
