In the year 2020, a forest fire forces a group of elves to abandon their woodland home. Seeking refuge, they resettle in Kanagawa Prefecture, just south of Tokyo — a place full of bustling cities like Yokohama, Kawasaki, and Sagamihara. Instead of hiding in secret, the elves begin living openly among humans in modern Japan. They shop at malls, read books at Yokohama Station, ride trains, and even deal with fantasy creatures like orcs showing up in the city streets. At the heart of the story is the humorous and heartwarming contrast between: The Yokohama elves, whimsical and otherworldly, yet strangely at ease in Japanese daily life. The Kawasaki humans, trying to figure out how to coexist with these magical new neighbors.
