As an immortal, time slips through her fingers like sand, and the decades that felt fleeting to her were a lifetime for her human friends. Grief stirs a long-overdue realization: she failed to truly cherish their shared moments. Determined to honor their legacy, Frieren sets out to fulfill her late comrades’ unspoken last wishes—from revisiting places they once laughed at to understanding the "small joys" humans hold dear. Along the way, she takes in two apprentices: Fern, Heiter’s orphaned ward, and Stark, a young warrior trained by Eisen, forging new bonds that redefine her understanding of time and connection.​

A critically acclaimed masterpiece, it won the 14th Manga Taishō and the New Creator Prize at the 25th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize (2021), plus the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award (2024).
