A small zoo, at the outskirts of Sendai in north-eastern Japan is facing the imminent demise, about to be absorbed by the I-1 Park. The curator Tange orders zookeeper Matsuda to scout for new animals, after even their last animal, an elephant, died. Matsuda advertises: "Become an idol! Comes with three meals and a nap." And so seven girls in animal costumes decide to help out and join the zoo: the tiger Minami is interested in the free food, the bear Yoshino just wants to help out, then there is the attention-hungry eagle Miyu, the shark Airi looking to become an idol, the career-focused wolf Nanami, the crocodile Kaya wanting to change herself, and finally the lion Mayu set on getting fed while napping the rest of the time. But can the actions of these assembled seven creatures bring back the Wake Up Girl Zoo from the brink?
